MABIRA FOREST, Uganda (AFP) — In Uganda, citropsis roots are believed to be aphrodisiac and their success has left the so-called “sex tree” on the brink of extinction and its avid male consumers deeply concerned.

“The roots work after three hours,” said Kasozi Bruham, a 49-year-old farmer and frequent user of the citropsis articulata, a gnarled, wiry bush found in Mabira reserve, one of the last rain forests in the east African country.

“We are worried about the extinction of that plant. Impotence is a big problem here,” he said, predicting that locals will spend their precious income to travel the 30 miles (48 kilometers) to the capital Kampala and buy stimulants in pharmacies.

Washington, December 4: Men suffering from erectile dysfunction (ED), a sexual disorder characterised by the inability to develop or maintain an erection of the penis, may now look to the French maritime pine tree for natural Viagra.

A new study at the Medical University of Sofia, Bulgaria, has shown that Prelox-a blend of Pycnogenol, the extract from the bark of the pine tree, and L-Arginine aspartate, an amino acid-can improve the condition of men with erectile dysfunction naturally.

Prelox was found to improve the performance of effected men in just one day during the study, to be published in an upcoming edition of the International Journal of Impotence Research.

Sex enhancement tablets that can be dangerous if taken without medical advice are being sold in Asian corner shops, trading officials warn.

Thousands of cheap variations of the licensed drug Viagra have flooded into Britain from India.

Trading standards officials warn that untested imitation pills could have fatal consequences.

Dubbed the “pills that kill”, anyone who has bought them is being urged to throw them away immediately.

The potentially deadly pills being sold under the counter include Vigora, Proxyron and Kamagra. Kamagra oral jelly is also being sold.

When Pfizer’s market strategists were shaping attitudes toward Viagra in the late ’90s, they had little to say to women. That seems to have been a mistake, and a factor in unimpressive sales in recent years.

The campaign had just one goal: to destigmatize impotence in men so they’d talk to their doctors about the problem and ask for Viagra.
